Grants for Nonprofits
WLP Consulting / Forest Rivers Designs announces the nonprofit charitable giving program for 2006. We will be awarding small grants in the areas of fostering free speech and social justice projects or campaigns utilizing the Internet. All of our grants require a matching commitment from the applicant. Applications and letters will be received throughout the calendar year.
Our nonprofit clients can skip the first step and proceed directly to Step Two - Full Proposal. Others should submit an inquiry letter in order to be invited to submit the Full Proposal.
Step One - Inquiry Letter: The letter must not be more than two pages and must be submitted by email to taylew@erols.com Include in the letter a brief description of the organization, the project for which services and/or funding is requested, how your project will foster free speech or social justice through the Internet, a budget for the organization and for the project, and contact information for the project director. Request for services up to $500 and monetary awards up to $250 will be considered. Generally, WLP will reply to your request within 60 days.
Step Two - Full Proposal A full proposal should not exceed three pages and must be submitted by email to taylew@erols.com It must include:
- A brief description of the organization, its mission, its accomplishments, and Broad of Directors
- A short narrative describing the project - include objectives, how the project will foster free speech or social justice, and a work plan
- Who will carry out the plan and what evaluation of effectiveness will be use
- Organization and project budget as well as sources of other funding, if applicable (not included in three-page limit)
- IRS501(c)(3) notification letter of the organization or its fiscal agent (this can be scanned and submitted as a compressed image or call 301-862-3517 to fax a copy of the letter.)(not included in three-page limit)
In most cases, applicants will receive a decision on their applications within 60 days. Send your application by email and place your organization's name in the subject line on all correspondence.
